Mrs. Connie Hiegel
Mrs. Hiegel grew up on a farm near Dorchester, NE. She attended Dorchester Public School (K-12) and then went on to Concordia College in Seward, NE. She graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor's degree in Education with a concentration in Special Education and a minor in Physical Education
Mrs. Hiegel's first two years of teaching were at Grace Lutheran School in Kansas City, KS. There she taught grades 3-4 and grades 6-8 P.E. and coached junior high volleyball and girls’ basketball. Connie came to Trinity in Grand Island in July of 1991. Over the years she has taught children in grades 2-8 in some capacity, coached volleyball and girls’ basketball, and served as the athletic director. Currently, she serves as the homeroom teacher for the sixth grade, teaches grades 6-8 Social Studies, and offers physical education instruction to a wide range of students at various levels.
Connie met her husband, Chris, while teaching at Trinity. They were married on May 29, 1993, and they have four children: Courtney, Carter, Claire, and Calie. When not teaching and following her children's activities, she enjoys coaching volleyball and supporting Heartland Lutheran High School, being a Husker volleyball fan, and relaxing at home.
Mrs. Hiegel's Confirmation verse is Revelation 2:10: "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."
