Ms. Barb Sheeks
Barbara Sheeks was born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska. She attended public school in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School. After graduating from the University of Nebraska-Kearney majoring in elementary education with an additional teaching endorsement in special education, she began teaching at Trinity Lutheran School in the fall of 1993. Ms. Sheeks taught second grade for 5 years and then moved to teach special education, working with students at Trinity in the areas of reading, writing, and math. She has also taught middle school language and worked in the school library. Ms. Sheeks currently serves as the kindergarten teacher.
Ms. Sheeks is a member of Grace Lutheran Church and helps with Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and serves on the Altar Guild. Her family consists of two sons who attend Trinity and a dog, Claire. She enjoys reading, gardening, riding her bike, and spending time at her sons’ sporting events.
Her faith is a very important part of her life and a favorite verse that encourages her is "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6.
